Feb. 2010: We have big changes happening within Guatemalan Harvest. This is WONDERFUL and lead by the hand of God. Many doors are opening for bigger and better things to be accomplished in Guatemala. At our most recent Board meeting (Feb. 2, 2010) Patti Katter resignation as a Board member was acknowledged, David L. Sgro was voted on the Board, we raised our Board member limit from three to 12 positions, and voted to officially change our name (yet to be publically unveiled). We are working on all the legal aspects of this and look forward to this opportunity for growth. Thank you Lord!
We would like to thank Patti Katter for her insight and service over the past year. We would also like to thank Iain and Sherri Struan for their support, ideas, and encouragement over the past year. We hope they choose to join us once again after we re-structure our team.
Dec. 2009: We raised $1,411 (40 baskets!) to go towards our Christmas Blessing Project. We would like to give a big THANK YOU to all our donors.
Nov.2009: It is early in the month and we have raised $890, which is enough for 25 baskets! God willing, we will be able to bless at least 40 families with this wonderful gift.
Sept. 2009: The food shortage crisis in Guatemala has become critical. We are planning our Christmas Blessing Basket Project to help families in desperate need of food this holiday season.
May 2009: The Playground Project is complete - praise God!
Mar. 2009: We raised the final $600 for the Playgound! This project is now entirely paid for. What a blessing!
We received our favorable determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service! We are officially a 501(c)(3) Public Charity. Also, the Playground Project is almost complete.
Feb. 2009: Would you like to give for a donation in lieu of a Birthday gift? Please read here. Also, our first e-newsletter can be found here.
Jan. 2009: Guatemalan Harvest, Inc. has filed an application with the IRS for recognition of its tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, any gifts or donations to Guatemalan Harvest should be income tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are very excited about this step and are looking forward to a future of doing great things in Guatemala!
Our Fundraiser Yard Sale was a success. We would like to give a special thank you to the Fort Bragg Mommies Group (a group of Army wives) who donated many great items. We raised $857 towards the Playground Project!
Dec. 2008: We are asking for your support to help build a playground in rural Guatemala. Please consider making a tax deductable donation towards this project. We sent $2,000 to begin the playground. More details and pictures of the initial construction can be found here. Also, we want to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas!
